One of my biggest wishes is that NCAA Women’s Hockey would get more attention.  Well that’s why this blog is here.  Without further ado, let’s congratulate the senior class of 2014-2015 as teams are eliminated from further play.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers

The Houston Field House is actually the only other building I’ve been in for women’s hockey other than Cheel Arena in Potsdam, NY.  I remember it having some really good sight-lines for hockey, I just wish they would bring back the bleachers right behind the opposing goaltender.

Team Highlights:

  • Won the season series versus rival Union (who plays in nearby Schenectady) 1-0-1.
  • Defeated Colgate 5-3 in the final game of the season to move up to ninth in the standings.

Senior Highlights:

  • Kathryn Schilter notched career highs in games played (33), assists (14), and points (15).
  • Ali Svoboda notched career highs in goals (8) and points (9).
  • Taylor Mahoney notched career highs in games played (34), assists (11), and points (16).
  • Delaney Middlebrook notched career highs in games played (33), goals (1), assists (1), and points (2).
  • Mariana Walsh notched career highs in games played (33), goals (4), and points (6).
  • Kelly O’Brien notched a career high in save percentage (.907).
